Lavion Vacuum Packaging, Bag Sealing, and Weighing Systems

On a vacuum packaging machine, jaw length determines not only the package's width but also how many bags can be placed in the same cycle. Pump capacity affects how quickly air is removed from the chamber, while chamber height affects the physical size of the product that can be packaged. Lavion vacuum machine prices vary based on countertop or floor-standing body, single or dual chamber, pump flow rate, and sealing jaw.

Lavion has operated in professional packaging equipment in Turkey since 2004. Its product range consists of chamber vacuum machines, dual-chamber industrial systems, tabletop or pedal-type bag sealers, and scale systems for different weighing needs.

How Does a Chamber Vacuum Machine Work?

The product is placed in a suitable vacuum bag, and the bag's open mouth is extended evenly to the sealing jaw. When the lid is closed, the pump removes the air from the entire chamber.

As the pressure inside the bag approaches the chamber's pressure, the package shrinks around the product in a controlled way. After the set vacuum stage, the jaw heat-seals the bag mouth, and the chamber returns to atmospheric pressure.

A chamber system differs from a machine that draws air only from inside the bag externally. It can provide a more controlled result with a suitable recipe for liquid and moist products; since hot liquid can boil under vacuum, the product should be cooled beforehand.

The DZ-400T Countertop Deep Chamber

The Lavion DZ-400T has a footprint of approximately 406 × 456 mm and a chamber height of 190 mm. There is approximately 50 mm of additional clearance under the lid.

The model uses a sealing line 355 mm long and 10 mm wide. It is listed with a pump of approximately 20 m³/hour, a 750-watt motor, and 500 watts of sealing power.

The deep chamber can provide room for meat, cheese, ready meals, deli products, or items taller than a standard flat package. The product must not press against the lid or the jaw.

Although its approximately 77 kg body is called countertop, it should not be placed on an ordinary lightweight counter. It should be confirmed that the work surface can support the load of the unit and the product.

The DZ-500 2E Dual Sealing Jaw System

The Lavion DZ-500 2E is offered with two 500 mm sealing jaws. The two jaws can help place bags on opposite sides of the chamber at the appropriate package size.

It is listed with a pump of approximately 20 m³/hour, a 1,500-watt motor, and 500 watts of sealing power. The chamber has a working area of approximately 530 × 525 mm.

Having two jaws does not automatically double capacity. Packages must not overlap each other in the chamber, bag mouths must sit evenly, and the pump needs to manage the total product volume.

The HVC-510S/2B Dual-Chamber Vacuum Machine

The HVC-510S/2B is a dual-chamber industrial vacuum machine with a sealing line of approximately 510 mm and 10 mm width. It operates with a pump of approximately 40 m³/hour and a 1,500-watt motor.

The dual-chamber design allows the lid to continue a vacuum cycle in one chamber while new packages are prepared on the other side. The operator can reduce wait time by moving the lid between the two working areas.

The model's body, at approximately 235 kg, requires a fixed floor installation. Space should be left around the machine for the lid's safe movement, bag preparation, and package output.

The HVC-610S/2B and the 610 mm Jaw

The HVC-610S/2B, with a sealing length of approximately 610 mm, is aimed at wide packages or more small bags on the same jaw at once. Pump capacity is stated at approximately 40 m³/hour.

The chamber offers an area of approximately 550 × 720 mm, a base height of 150 mm, and approximately 100 mm of additional clearance under the lid. Net weight is approximately 250 kg.

A wide jaw does not mean every package must be 610 mm. If two or more small bags are placed side by side, their open mouths must not overlap.

What Does Vacuum Pump Flow Rate Mean?

The cubic-meter-per-hour value indicates the pump's theoretical air-transport capacity. A larger pump can provide a shorter cycle at the same chamber volume; actual duration depends on the target vacuum, product volume, and maintenance condition.

If pump oil becomes contaminated or its level drops, vacuum time can lengthen. On a model using an oil pump, maintenance should be tracked not only by operating hours but also by oil color and unit performance.

The vacuum gauge or panel setting does not directly measure the actual oxygen amount inside the package. Product shelf life should not be tied to vacuum percentage alone.

Sealing Jaw and Bag Compatibility

Jaw length must be greater than the bag's open mouth. If there are folds, wrinkles, grease, or product residue in the bag mouth area, sealing can weaken.

The 10 mm wide sealing line found on certain chamber-equipped Lavion models creates a strong closure surface. Time and temperature should be adjusted based on the bag's layer structure.

Flat vacuum bags are used in chamber machines. Channeled bags for household external-suction devices are not required for every professional chamber system.

FS Series Tabletop Bag Sealers

The Lavion FS series is offered in different sealing lengths such as 200, 300, 400, and 500 mm. These units are aimed at heat-sealing the bag's open mouth without drawing out the air inside.

The iron-bodied FS-400 model is listed with an approximately 400 mm length, 3 mm width, 600 watts of power, and a heating time adjustable between 0.2–1.3 seconds.

The FS-500 uses an approximately 500 mm sealing length, a 3 mm line, and 800 watts of power. Maximum film thickness is stated in the product sheet as approximately 0.3 mm.

A bag sealer is not a vacuum machine. If air needs to be removed from inside the package, a suitable vacuum system should be used.

Side-Cutting and Pedal Sealing Systems

Side-cutting products such as the FS-300C and FS-400C can help neatly separate the excess film section after sealing the bag mouth.

On PFS pedal machines, the operator can hold the bag with both hands while starting the sealing cycle with the foot. For large or full packages, this working style can be more controlled than a tabletop lever mechanism.

The cutting blade and the hot jaw guard must not be removed. When the Teflon tape wears out, the product can stick to the film and the seal mark can be compromised.

Conveyor Bag Sealing Lines

FRB-series conveyor machines are aimed at continuously passing filled bags through the sealing section on a belt. Different transport arrangements suited to horizontal or the package structure may be available.

In configurations with a date-coding feature, production information can be transferred to the package during the sealing process. The printing unit's compatibility with characters, ink, and packaging surface should be checked.

Conveyor speed and sealing temperature should be set together. If the belt is too fast, the line may not bond sufficiently; if too slow, the film can melt or lose its shape.

Scale Systems Within the Lavion Range

Lavion's product line may include weighing, counting, price-computing, precision measurement, and platform-type scale systems. Each unit should be selected by evaluating capacity together with graduation value.

A scale with 30 kg capacity can operate at different measurement increments such as 0.1, 1, or 5 grams. Higher capacity does not always provide high precision for small products.

If sales to customers will be made by weight, the model's legal metrology and commercial approval requirements should be checked. For warehouse or recipe weighing, platform, tare, and data transfer may take priority.

The scale system's manufacturer brand, model code, and technical approval should be confirmed via the quote. Not every scale in Lavion's sales range should be assumed to be Lavion-branded directly.

Does Vacuum Packaging Replace Food Safety Practices?

Vacuum reduces the air inside the package; it does not sterilize the product. Raw meat, fish, dairy, and ready meals must be stored at the appropriate temperature and labeled according to the business's shelf-life procedure.

When a hot product is vacuum-sealed, liquid can boil and be drawn to the bag mouth. Products must be cooled to a safe temperature before packaging.

Every package should be marked with the product name, production date, batch number, and storage conditions. A swollen, leaking, or open-seal package must not be used.

Key Features

  • A 355 mm jaw, deep countertop chamber, and approximately 20 m³/hour pump on the DZ-400T
  • Dual chamber, wide sealing line, and 40 m³/hour pump on the HVC-510S/2B and HVC-610S/2B
  • 200–500 mm tabletop options in the FS series; pedal and conveyor options for wider applications
  • Different scale classes for weighing, counting, precision measurement, and price computation needs

How Should a Lavion Packaging Line Be Chosen?

First, determine the width of the largest bag, product height, packages per hour, and whether the product contains liquid. Then select chamber, jaw, and pump capacity.

For low-to-medium volume, a DZ countertop unit; for continuous production, a floor-standing or dual-chamber HVC; and for simply sealing the bag mouth, FS or PFS systems can be considered.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between the Lavion DZ-400T and the HVC-510S/2B?

The DZ-400T is a single-chamber countertop system with a pump of approximately 20 m³/hour. The HVC-510S/2B is a high-production model with dual chambers, a 510 mm jaw, and a pump of approximately 40 m³/hour.

Does the Lavion FS bag sealer create a vacuum?

No. The FS series heat-seals the bag's open mouth. If air needs to be drawn from inside the package, a suitable vacuum machine such as the DZ or HVC should be used.

Can liquid products be packaged in a Lavion vacuum machine?

They can be packaged in a chamber model with a suitable recipe; however, the product must be pre-cooled and the risk of boiling and overflow must be controlled. If liquid reaches the bag mouth, the seal can weaken.
